Dulverton has now presented its’ 3rd Folk Festival
***FREE ENTRY TO ALL EVENTS***
It's all over! Boo... we had such a wonderful time, with a fantastic
atmosphere, lots of lovely friendly people - thank you to all who came
and helped to make the Festival so much fun! Not only that but we were
blessed with the most spectacularly good weather which ensured that all
our plans for outdoor events went off without a hitch - the storywalk
through the wood was well recieved, Francis delighting listeners with
her tales, as was her storytelling session on Exmoor Lawns. With some
great fun singing workshops which culminated in the performing of 4
songs at the ceilidh, and lots of sessions, and of course the wonderful
dancing by the incredibly energetic Earlsdon Morris and Exeter Morris.
Look out for the photos
from this year's festival being added to the gallery in the next few
months.
Now comes the challenge
of creating as good a festival next year, ideally we would like to make
it better... so back to the FOC meetings to get wheels in motion for
DFF 2010!
If you would like to
offer something for next year's festival (which I believe will also be
over the Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend 2010) please do get in touch.
As well as starting to
plan for next year, I have already started a long task of editing the
recordings I did during the festival - eventually
it is hoped we will be offering a CD for sale capturing the energy,
atmosphere and vitality of this year's festival - any copies sold will
help to ensure we can keep next year's festival free as well - so do
check back again soon to see if it's available and purchase your copy,
or drop me an email and
I will let you know when they are available.
I am sure we will be
aiming to do some more fundraising activity throughout the coming year
to help ensure our aim of free folk can continue, so keep an eye on
this site to see what might be happening, when and where....
Did you attend the
festival? Do you have comments for us to help make next year even
better? Please do let us know your thoughts - either to myself or John Lowday.
